How to Play
The Game
You'll see three real NYC restaurants. On its most recent inspection, one of them was caught with confirmed rats, roaches, or mice. Tap the one you think it is, then lock in your guess.
Districts
Beyond the Daily, you can free-play any of NYC's 59 community districts — tap one on the map or pick it from the list. The map tints each district by your best run there, and turns it gold once you've cleared every pest spot in it.
Streaks
The Daily Challenge is one citywide round, the same for everyone each day — get it right to keep your daily 🔥 streak alive, or it resets on a miss. In free play, your endless ⚡ streak carries across districts — switching to a new district won't break it, only a wrong guess will.
Wait — an A with pests?
Yep, it happens. NYC letter grades come from the total violation points at an inspection, so a single rat, roach, or mouse citation doesn't automatically sink the grade — an A-graded spot can still have confirmed pests on record. That's part of what makes the guessing tricky.
About the Data
Source: NYC Open Data, DOHMH Restaurant Inspection Results, sorted by most recent inspection date. "Confirmed evidence" means an inspector recorded actual rats, roaches, or mice — not just a citation for conditions that could attract pests.
